Jolene joined the Silverado team in October of 2003. She
received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s in
Social Work at San Diego State University. Currently she is
pursuing licensure to become a licensed clinical social worker.
Jolene has interned as a social worker in the school districts
for children and adolescents. She also interned for a year at
Kaiser Psychiatry where she utilized her clinical skills doing
individual, couple and family therapy.
Jolene is proud to be a part of the Silverado team and is very
passionate about working with individuals with memory
impairments and carrying out a supportive role for their
families. Jolene's favorite part of her job is interacting
one-on-one with the residents and their families.

Dr. John Daly. MD. Medical Director |
|
As Silverado-Encinitas’ medical director,
John W. Daly, MD, brings boundless energy and commitment to his
chosen field of geriatrics. He completed both a BS in Nursing
and medical school at the University of New Mexico, and moved to
San Diego to complete his residency in internal medicine and a
geriatrics and rheumatology fellowship at the University of
California at San Diego. He has been making a difference in the
lives of our seniors here ever since. Dr. Daly is Assistant
Professor of Geriatric Medicine at UCSD and Director of the
Geriatric Medicine Fellowship there. He is also the Consultant
Geriatrician to the Senior Behavioral Medicine inpatient unit at
UCSD Thornton Hospital in La Jolla, CA.
Dr. Daly’s expertise in dementia care is equaled by his
commitment to enhancing the dignity, independence and quality of
life of all the elderly, including those living with memory
impairment. The relationships he has built at Silverado Senior
Living during his regular visits has won the hearts of our
residents, family members and associates alike. |

Sheila Alston - Family Ambassador |
|
 Born
and raised in Chicago Ill. Sheila attended Univ. of Minnesota as
a political Science Major, heading for law school. Married for
18yrs, with two wonderful boys. Sheila worked with hospice for
over 11yrs. She joined the Silverado family in Escondido as a
caregiver. Since that day she has helped with training and
start-up of all the Silverado's in the California locations. Her
work history ranges from nursing, activities director,
marketing, senior care coordinator and recruiter. E-Mail:

Dorit Hakak, LCSW, - Family
Ambassador |

Dorit received her master's degree in social work from
University of Southern California and has since become a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has served the geriatric
community for the past ten years, working in various agencies,
skilled nursing facilities, and hospitals.
Dorit brings extensive experience as a Care Manager to her
role of Family Ambassador. She is proud to be part of the
Silverado team and enjoys helping new residents and families
make a smooth transition into our community.

Carilyn Long, Community Ambassador |

joined Silverado Senior Living – Encinitas in the summer of
2003. She began her career as a Business Management major at
Palomar College. Shortly thereafter, the devoted mother of three
became interested in the senior community.
Carilyn has been working with skilled nursing facilities and
donating her time to countless Alzheimer’s and dementia
associations for the past eleven years.
