Carole Shaw – Administrator |
|
Putting
residents and families first is everyone’s concern at Silverado
Senior Living. Carole Shaw has dedicated most of her working
career to serving the needs of seniors needing long-term care
and assistance. She joined Silverado Senior Living in 1998 and
received her Administrative training in Silverado’s Escondido
and Costa Mesa communities. Having the unique opportunity to be
actively involved with the renovation and opening of Silverado
Senior Living – The Huntington in Alhambra, she worked with
local businesses the year before opening and educated them on
memory loss problems and helped them understand the importance
of their support in helping us keep this segment of our
population active and viable.
In 2001 she assumed the role of Administrator for both
Silverado’s San Gabriel Valley communities – The Huntington and
Sierra Vista. Under her leadership in 2002, Sierra Vista
received Silverado’s Community of the Year Award and Carole was
honored as Silverado’s Administrator of the Year.
An avid pet lover, she was instrumental in bringing pet
companions to live in a nursing home in Orange County and holds
a strong belief that animals touch our resident’s lives in a
very special way. Currently, Carole is pursuing her education in
Gerontology at USC and believes that ongoing education will help
her best serve those needing our services and support.Email:

Carol da Costa -- Community
Ambassador |
|
|
.JPG)
Carol joined Silverado’s San Juan Capistrano team in early
2005 and brings over 30 years of experience in the health care
field. She started her career in the mental health industry
after graduating from San Diego State University with a degree
in Recreation Administration with an emphasis in therapeutic
recreation. Carol enjoyed working with all age groups and
disabilities, yet her love for the spirit of the elderly led her
to seek a new direction in skilled nursing and assisted living
environments.
Carol’s worked as a social worker and an activities director in
the skilled nursing setting and has developed to capacity the
Alzheimer’s sections of two separate assisted living
communities. Bringing comfort, reassurance and self-esteem to
the residents affected with dementia has brought great
satisfaction to Carol. In her role as Community Ambassador, this
sense of satisfaction continues to grow as a result of her
bringing a better understanding of the affects of this
devastating disease to the public and to health care
professionals.
