The average age of diagnosis is 60. However, 10 - 20% of persons with PD develop it before the age of 50. About half of these are diagnosed before the age of 40.

News from the NPF. The National Parkinson Foundation was founded in 1957 and is now a world class institution. It began as an institution which provided therapies. In 1981, the Foundation increased its building space from 12,500 sq.ft. to 50,000 sq.ft.
