Mara Hernandez
Director of Resident Engagement

Mara joined Silverado - Tustin Hacienda in July 2007 as the Activities Director. Mara is currently attending California State University of Fullerton to obtain her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work. Mara has always been involved in the helping professions. At an early age, Mara started volunteering for different programs including participating in recreational activities for adults with disabilities.
As time passed by, she discovered that her passion for social work was continuously growing and realized that no other profession could give her the satisfaction and fulfillment that helping others gives. Volunteering turned into working in the field, including working with the substance abuse and HIV populations.
Mara enjoys working for Silverado and enjoys each and every special moment with Silverado’s residents. And like the residents, Mara has a passion for all kinds of sweets, especially chocolate, “We have, what I like to call, our chocolate moments!”
